Scope and Contents
This series contains print correspondence, reports, publicity, board meeting minutes, photos, and miscellaneous subject files related to Jernigan’s time as director of the Iowa Commission for the Blind (1958-1978). Some materials cover the time periods before and after his directorship. Also includes materials related to the Iowa Advisory Committee for the Blind and the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School. The majority of correspondence is arranged by date in reverse chronological order, with some correspondence filed separately and arranged alphabetically by correspondent’s last name.
